Licensed Professional Counselor

Colleen Fisher received her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Chatham University, and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh. Colleen is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a National Board Certified Counselor. Additionally, Colleen received her Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) certification from Allegheny Health Network. Colleen has extensive professional experience counseling children and adolescents of diverse backgrounds.

Colleen began her career working in a residential treatment facility, where she gained extensive experience servicing children with trauma, severe mood and behavioral needs, suicidality and self-injurious behaviors, and complex diagnoses. Since then, she has transitioned to outpatient services helping children, adolescents, and transition-age young adults with stress, grief and loss, major adjustments and transitions, and anxiety and mood disorders. Colleen has a particular interest and great experience helping women and girls with complex trauma histories, though she serves trauma survivors of all genders and diverse backgrounds.

Colleen has a passion for connecting with those she helps on an interpersonal level. Her counseling philosophy is that therapy should first and foremost be a safe space for you to express any of your emotions and experiences. She prides herself in being a non-judgmental and receptive counselor. Colleen practices a relaxed therapy style that focuses on processing and emotion identification with a trauma-informed approach. Colleen also includes CBT and DBT skills where appropriate. Colleen enjoys adding non-verbal approaches to processing, including the use of play, art, and creative expression.
